The First Chicken Meat Export to the World

Ecuador exported a container with 28 tons of chicken meat to the Bahamas, marking a milestone for the country’s poultry industry. This achievement was made possible through the joint efforts of the public and private sectors, along with local producers.
The Ministry of Agriculture, through Agrocalidad, certified the product of Avícola San Isidro – AVISID S.A., ensuring its compliance with both national and international standards.
Diana Espín, Executive Director of CONAVE, highlighted the collaboration between the corporation, its members, and government entities, emphasizing the sector’s commitment to the country’s development.
Minister of Agriculture Eduardo Izaguirre emphasized that this export will boost non-oil revenues and benefit thousands of rural families. Meanwhile, Patricio Almeida, Director of Agrocalidad, stated that this achievement will encourage more producers to improve their standards in order to access new markets.
Finally, the efforts of Avícola San Isidro and GustaPollo were recognized for paving the way for future poultry exports.
